A quick heads-up for anyone preparing for the FAMHP’s Stock Monitoring Tool (SMT). The mandatory daily reporting of stock and consumption data, originally expected to become effective on 1 July 2026, now appears likely to be postponed.
At his stage, however, this should be considered an indication rather than confirmed news. At the time of writing the FAMHP has not yet published an official announcement and the revised timeline remains subject to confirmation. We are closely monitoring developments and will share a further update as soon as the agency provides formal guidance.
Regardless of the exact implementation date, this development should not be viewed as an opportunity to delay preparations. The reporting requirements are still expected to enter into force, and establishing the necessary processes, data flows and system interfaces to report daily stock and consumption data for potentially thousands of product references can be a significant undertaking for both pharmaceutical companies and hospitals.

Now is therefore the right time to assess readiness, identify potential gaps and ensure that internal systems and procedures can support the future reporting obligations.
