CPHI Milan brought the global pharmaceutical supply chain together at Fiera Milano from 6 to 8 October 2026. Our team walked the floor for three days, met partners and clients and followed the sessions that matter most to companies operating in the Benelux. Below are the takeaways we brought home.
What we saw on the floor
The exhibition floor reflected the scale and maturity of the industry, bringing together companies from across Europe, Asia and beyond. What stood out most was the highly professional atmosphere: conversations were focused on business opportunities, partnerships and long-term growth. Rather than a trade show built around entertainment, CPhI Milan felt like a place where serious business gets done.
Private label
Private label opportunities dominated many of the conversations we had during CPhI Milan. More companies are exploring ways to bring products to market through private label partnerships, allowing them to expand their portfolios faster and with lower development risks. However, successfully launching a medicinal product in Belgium or the Benelux requires careful management of regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and quality obligations. This is where our consultancy support becomes essential, enabling companies to accelerate market entry while remaining compliant and focused on their core business.
Regulatory compliance and lifecycle management remain a growing challenge
One of the key insights from CPhI Milan was that regulatory compliance does not stop once a product reaches the market. Companies increasingly recognise the need for expert support not only during product registration and launch, but also throughout the entire product lifecycle. Activities such as pharmacovigilance, variation management, regulatory maintenance and quality oversight require continuous attention to ensure ongoing compliance. M.P.C.A. International supports companies across this full journey, helping them reduce operational burden while ensuring their products remain compliant and available on the market.
What this means for companies in the Benelux
For companies exploring private label opportunities, having a clear regulatory strategy from the start is essential. In practice, this means either having access to an existing marketing authorisation dossier or partnering with a manufacturer that already owns and maintains the dossier. Companies should also assess early on who will take responsibility for regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and quality oversight once the product is placed on the market. Establishing these responsibilities upfront can significantly accelerate market entry and prevent delays later in the process.
