MPCA Leesbaarheid

Testing the readability of instructions for use

Package leaflets of medicines must be clear and understandable. The European Community has ordered an investigation into this matter. That is what MPCA wants to investigate on behalf of pharmaceutical companies.

To participate in a readability test, you must be able to read and understand Dutch and you must be at least 18 years old. Gender, education or work is irrelevant. Please note that you can only participate once in a 6-month period. You will receive compensation for your cooperation.

It's the package insert to be tested, not you! You are the one who will test the package insert, we do not investigate your reading skills or other competencies.

You take a seat in a room where you can read the package leaflet carefully, without time pressure. When you are ready, we can start with the interview that consists of fifteen questions about the package leaflet. You can always consult the package leaflet again.

Reading the package insert and conducting the interview takes approximately 45 minutes. This varies from the length of the package insert text and from person to person.

Please enter your details in the text fields below. Do not forget to click on the 'register' button afterwards, so you will be included in our database. As soon as you are eligible to test the readability of a package insert, you will be contacted by us and we will make an appointment at the MPCA offices at Coupure Links 505 in Ghent or Vrijestraat 28 in Assenede.

The information about you will be processed and analyzed electronically (i.e. in the computer) or manually to determine the results of this study. You have the right to ask what data is collected about you in the context of the study and what the purpose is. You also have the right to request access to your personal information and make any necessary corrections. The protection of personal data is legally determined by the law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy.
